Dinner with Aunt Debbie, Uncle Michael, Cousin Sarah and Brooklyn
Aunt Debbie and Uncle Michael thank you so much for the birthday dinner! Tim and I appreciated it and loved the time spent with you guys!
Granite City Dinner (Tim's favorite in Sioux Falls)
Aunt Debbie snuggling Linc and savoring every minute
Cousin Sarah and baby Brooklyn joined us. Brooklyn was born 7 days before Max and Lincoln.
Uncle Michael driving cars on Max - had him smiling a ton
Checking out the ducks, or the one lonely duck that hasn't left yet.
THURSDAY
Tim turns 29!! And we landed in Terry Peak for a Haggar style vacation. Needless to say, this was an EVENTFUL trip to the hills. After staying in Mitchell Wednesday night, we traveled the rest of the way on Thursday. Max started vomiting in the car just an hour out of Rapid! I spent the rest of the afternoon at Mary's house trying to comfort him while Charlie and Lincoln surprised Papa (he had NO IDEA we were coming).
My wonderful mother planned this vacation for all 15 of us for my dad's 60th birthday. She rented two beautiful chalets for us to stay in and we had an amazing time together! Thanks Mom for getting us all together again. It wouldn't have been possible if it weren't for your efforts! It was a weekend to remember for SOOO many reasons, but most importantly the life of a man that we all love and cherish to the ends of the earth!
Grandma and Linc reading his new books - Thanks Gran
Mama and Max (we kept a bib on him all day - poor baby!)
"This place is SWEEEET Grandma!"
Tim blowing out his pretend candles - sorry babe!
Tim wanted to say thanks again for all the awesome gifts and birthday wishes he received. It is always a good thing when people remind you of how special you are to them AND Tim is very special to all of us and we love him dearly.
FRIDAY
Brother Tim turns 37!! The rest of the family joined us at the cabins on Friday and if you know my family, you know all our TIMS have birthdays in October. Before they all got there we had lunch at the Roundhouse Restaurant in Lead. It was the perfect spot especially for the train lovers in the family. Papa and Charlie got reserved seating in the engine while the rest of us ate in the coal car!! We were just missing Grandpa Ed and thought about him the whole time.
The sun rise outside our deck - breathtaking!
Enjoying the mountain air on the deck
Papa and Charlie's special birthday lunch. He didn't want the babies to sit by them at all, just Papa and Charles T.
Mom and son-in-law always laughing and talking recipes
Max and Daddy
They went from discussing the trains, to coloring, to whistling
Two Engineers enjoyed their lunch - Thanks Grandma!
Outside the Roundhouse - it is the real thing!
You could hear their whistles a mile away
Max and Linc joining the fun
Max was under the weather again and Grandma came to his rescue every time

Good brownies Mama!
My baby sister and I have a drink (This is right before I got sick. I wish I could say it was from that! That was my first and last drink of the weekend)
SATURDAY
Papa's birthday celebration!! Saturday brought so many things for us...Tim, Lincoln, and I started throwing up Friday night and all day Saturday. My family really came to our rescue and helped us tremendously! 7:00am that morning Papa came over and got both babies while Uncle Tim took Charlie to their cabin for breakfast. Shortly after everyone was helping, including Aunt Mary saving us during the night. We couldn't have gotten through it without everyone's help!
Most importantly, we had planned to surprise my dad with his new team uniforms. I had shirts made for all of the grandkids with their birth order number on each one. Gran got her assisant coach shirt as well as all the older kids wearing the famous TIM hats. There is a picture of my dad in the 80's wearing this giant foam and mesh hat that said TIM on the front. We had to replicate the hats for his 60th birthday. We didn't get the team line up picture due to the illnesses and chaos but lots of others.
We love you Dad so much and hope this birthday is one of the best for you! I love watching your face light up when you are playing with your grandchildren and giving all the hugs in the world. You can see the joy in all their eyes when they are with you and Mom or even saying your name.
"Surprise Papa!"
We had all the kids come running down the stairs with their shirts on. All their shirts have the nicknames that Papa has given the kids.
Mak aka Hambone ripped Papa's hat off immediately to put the right hat on
He loved the gift and wore it with pride!
Squeezing his youngest granddaughters, Kiwi and Peaches (Kyra and Sophie)
Uncle Tim and Charlie chillin like villians
Papa and his Hambone (Malaki)
I tried to join the party but as you can see, I brought the towel with (what a nightmare)
Papa and Charles T. tickle time
Can you see these two in a few years on the same team?! What a great picture!
Tim getting some fresh air with Charlie - nothing helped us at that point but we had high hopes to feel better for the party

Max with his saving grace Grandma
Bat boy #2 Lincoln Thomas - the last grandbaby as of right now BUT who knows!
Aunt Faye teaching Max how to use a computer. Faye also took over my camera when I was under the weather. THANKS A MIL!
Izzy and her Daddy AND their tongues (we see Uncle Tim's tongue alot when we talk to him via video chat on the computer. Him and Charlie have the weirdest contests)
Go AVES! The girls are hockey lovers thanks to their Dad. Izzy takes her Aves blanket everywhere.
Singing to the birthday boy
He didn't have the chance to blow out the candles, the kids were on it.
SUNDAY
Sunday morning brought painful goodbyes and a few tears as usual. It never gets easier to drive away from my best friends in the whole world. Charlie did his usual and didn't say goodbye. He thinks if he doesn't then we won't leave. He made plans to see Soph and Iz on the computer for Tuesday night and host Papa at our house next week. That always helps.
Uncle Tim on breakfast duty again
Aunt Faye, Soph, and Izzy
Aunt Tina and Soph dancing
Guess WHO!?
Izzy and I got lots of snuggle time this weekend and I loved every minute of it. It is easy to put aside the tummy ache when you have beautiful, energetic lil ones to hold on to.
Sophie with her Uncle Tim having a juice box
Blowing their trains whistles at breakfast
UNTIL NEXT TIME FAMILY OF MINE!
http://www.terrypeakchalets.com/black_hills/index.php I have put the link on here of the chalets that we stayed in. They were absolutely amazing! I would recommend them to anyone that likes the mountain scenery and a beautiful place to stay. We have plans in the far future to hopefully have a family Christmas there. You can click on the video tour and it walks you through the cabins. We stayed in "Homestake" and "Holy Terror".
