August 24th was my last day as a daycare provider. Genius in Training has officially closed. It was harder than I thought to say good bye to these children that I have grown close to, cared for, and taught. We filled our summer with park visits, picnics, storytime every Wednesday at the library, pool visits, and special lunches at Godfather's and Mcdonald's. To say our final goodbyes, we had a picnic with all our friends and their moms and dads. On our last day together, we went to the WOW zone to bowl and eat pizza. I will miss these kiddos and the little ways they have all changed me. I want to thank the families once again for the amazingly generous gifts that I received! It has been wonderful to feel appreciated, loved, and supported by all of you. THANK YOU!
I am now a Reading Intervention teacher at Jefferson Elementary in Mankato, working with kids K-5th grade. Charlie started kindergarten today and the twins have started a new "school" (daycare) as well. Everyone is getting use to a new schedule/routine, but it will take some time for everyone to be happy about the changes.
